Thank You Bird
Thank You Bird

Once upon a time…
there was a boy, my boy next door. And his name was Johny.
He often looks into our garden from his room. Or he looks from his own garden, through the cracks in the fence…
Mommy, it looks like the petting zoo there.
'Mommy, it looks like the petting zoo there,' he once said. His 'garden' consists of stones, but he finds our garden very interesting. Sometimes he comes to play. He discovers all kinds of things between the green and then he connects with the chickens. His hands and clothes get dirty, but he doesn't care.
Wonderful to see him playing and discovering. A child who discovers that the chickens really like to eat worms. He helps them to search!
A child who is amazed at the eggs that are sometimes in the cage. 'Can you eat them?' is a question asked more than once.
Actually, a question asked by children and adults! Yes, of course, you can eat these eggs. They are delicious—a child who feels at one with nature for a moment.
A balloon
Some day, Johnny played with a balloon inside his own garden, the balloon deflated and disappeared… into our garden. But he didn't realize I was there.
Silently and unobtrusively, I threw the balloon back over the fence. And, just then, a pigeon flew away.
Thank you, bird…
The words of Johnny after this: 'Thank you, bird.'
I loved these words. They are printed in my memory.
I quietly disappeared to enjoy this beautiful moment myself. And to leave little Johnny with his moment together with his bird and his balloon.
A moment of Wonder.
A moment of gratefulness 🙏🏻
